Our Mission

We want to inspire young people to become science and technology leaders and innovators. We do this through exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, technology and life skills.

Our approach combines learning by doing with competition, collaboration, leadership and fun.

More than robots.

We are building confidence, teamwork, problem-solving ability, communication, leadership and a nationwide culture of innovation.

Our Programs

Pathways for young innovators

LYBOTICS creates opportunities at different stages of a young person’s journey — from early exploration to advanced robotics, leadership and university-level innovation.

FIRST Tech Challenge Libya

A national robotics pathway for students aged 12–18, combining engineering, programming, teamwork, communication and leadership.

Libya STEM Championship

STEM learning and exploration for children aged 6–12 through hands-on activities, robotics and friendly competition.

LIBYA Unibotics Competition

An advanced robotics and innovation experience for university students aged 18–25.

Coding & Robotics Academy

Expanding access to quality STEM, robotics and coding education beyond traditional school programs.

Salam@Libya

A digital safety initiative focused on increasing digital literacy and awareness of online threats, risks and solutions.

Why This Matters

Robotics gives young people a practical platform to learn, collaborate, solve problems and connect with peers from communities across Libya.

Community-Led Robotics

The competition continues beyond the main season

One of the strongest signs of a growing robotics community is when teams begin creating opportunities for one another. During 2026, friendly and off-season competitions were organized in multiple Libyan cities.

Tripoli • June 2026

AMLY Robotics Off-Season Competition

AMLY Tech Robotics Team and the American School of Tripoli brought together 19 teams from six Libyan cities for two days of friendly competition, learning and collaboration.

Benghazi • July 2026

Ru'ya Robotics Tournament — Second Edition

The second edition of the Ru'ya Robotics Tournament brought teams together in Benghazi for another locally organized opportunity to compete, learn and develop.

Misurata • August 2026

Misrata Robotics Championship

Misurata joined the growing off-season competition calendar, creating another platform for teams to keep building, testing and learning beyond the formal season.

Tajoura • August 2026

Taj Summer Robotics Tournament

The second edition of the all-girls Taj Summer Robotics Tournament created a dedicated space for girls to build, program, compete and strengthen their confidence in STEM.

A community creating opportunities for itself.

These tournaments demonstrate an important shift: LYBOTICS teams are not only joining robotics opportunities — they are increasingly organizing them for other young people.
Highlights

A year of opportunity and connection

National Robotics Season

The 2025–2026 season connected teams through qualifying tournaments and activities across Libya, building a national pathway toward the Libya Robotics Championship.

International Representation

LYBOTICS Shadow Wizards Team 30706 from Tripoli and LYBOTICS Castle Team 18448 from Sabha represented Libya at FIRST Tech Challenge Premier Events in Canada.

Youth Leadership

Young people continued moving from participants to mentors, volunteers, organizers and leaders within the LYBOTICS community.

Community Outreach

Teams developed activities beyond competition, using robotics to engage schools, families and communities.

Learning Across Cities

LYBOTICS continued bringing young people from different Libyan cities together around common technical challenges, teamwork and learning.

Digital Safety

Through Salam@Libya, the organization is also rebuilding its work around digital safety, literacy and responsible technology use.

Impact

More than building robots

Our impact studies show that the robotics experience extends beyond technical knowledge. Participants develop confidence, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills that remain valuable long after a competition ends.

Looking Ahead

Building the next chapter

Our priorities

  • Expand access to robotics equipment, training and opportunities for new teams.
  • Support more community-led friendly tournaments and off-season competitions.
  • Strengthen technical development for students, mentors and teams.
  • Create more international opportunities for young Libyans.
  • Continue digital safety work through Salam@Libya.
  • Grow sustainable partnerships that can support LYBOTICS' long-term national impact.

Why LYBOTICS?

LYBOTICS is built on a simple belief: young people can achieve extraordinary things when they are given opportunity, trust and the tools to learn.

What began as an effort to expand access to robotics has grown into a nationwide community of learners, mentors, volunteers and young leaders.

Together for a better Libya.

Learn by doing.
Build through collaboration.
Inspire the next generation.
